Astana. October 31. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and the chairman of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Haruhiko Kuroda discussed prospects of cooperation, the agency reports.
"We discussed mutual relations between the Asian Development Bank and Kazakhstan, including the question of the actions carried out in private sector," the ADB chairman said at the briefing after the meeting with the President of Kazakhstan. We tried to define future plan of our cooperation," he noted.
During the negotiations the parties discussed the question of regional cooperation, including within the limits of CAREC. "We highly estimated the role that Kazakhstan plays in the integration processes in the region and highly appreciate positive attitude of Kazakhstan in relation to CAREC," he emphasized.
ADB has actively participated in financing of investment projects in the sphere of agriculture, education, social protection of population, development of transport infrastructure and provision of the population of Kazakhstan with qualitative potable water since 1994. Eight projects have been realized for this period on the territory of the Republic jointly with the ADB. Total sum of ADB loans has made $377 million.
