Kazakhstan President, American Ambassador discussed prospects of regional cooperation

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, met in residence Akorda the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Richard Haugland, on Monday, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, met in residence Akorda the Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Richard Haugland, on Monday, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

"During the talks the officials discussed the prospects of regional cooperation and the questions of mutual relations," the press service informed.

According to the press service, at the meeting the officials also discussed the question of the Kazakhstan-American trade and economic cooperation, including in the sphere of innovative technologies. The accelerated innovative-industrial development of Kazakhstan will make positive impact on the economy of all countries of the Central Asian region.

"The officials also discussed the process of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons, the situation in Afghanistan, and other important aspects of the current world policy," the message states.
