Kazakhstan President arrived in Dushanbe to participate in SCO summit

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, arrived in Dushanbe on Wednesday to participate in the session of the Council of the leaders of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, arrived in Dushanbe on Wednesday to participate in the session of the Council of the leaders of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

"The main directions of cooperation of the countries - members of the organization on a number of current issues, including policy of security and counteraction to international terrorism, trade and economic cooperation, directed at maintenance of stability, security, well-being and stable economic growth of the states of the region will be discussed during the summit," the president's press service informs.

Nursultan Nazarbayev held the meeting with the President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, in Dushanbe where the counterparts discussed a broad range of questions of bilateral cooperation.

As it was informed earlier, the participants of SCO summit have started to arrive in Dushanbe. The Presidents of Iran, Russia, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan have already arrived in the capital of Tajikistan.

The Chairman of the Peoples Republic of China, Hu Jintao, who arrived on the eve in Tajikistan for the state visit and the delegation of Pakistan headed by National Security Adviser of the Prime Minister, Mahmud Ali Durrani, and the delegation of India headed by the Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Murli Deora have been in Dushanbe.
