Kazakhstan President awarded Olympic Council of Asia reward

Astana. May 28. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has been awarded the reward of the Olympic Council of Asia (ОСА) for the contribution to development of Olympic Movement in Asia. The award to the President of the country was handed over today by the Minister of National Security of Kuwait, the President of the Asian Olympic Council, sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah.

"An award, being the highest OCA reward, has been awarded for support of development of sports on the Asian continent. VII Winter Asian Games will take place in Almaty in 2011 and I on behalf of ОСА would like to express gratitude to the President and the people of Kazakhstan for preparation for them," the President Olympic Council of Asia said at the briefing.

According to the press service of the Kazakhstan President, the sheikh also conveyed N. Nazarbayev the greeting from the emir of Kuwait. According to the information of the president's press service, the Olympic Council of Asia is a supervising body of Sports Movement in Asia, authorized to supervise and support sports of highest achievements. ОСА coordinates sports activity in the OCA member countries, each four years holds the Asian Summer and Winter Games and propagandizes high ideals of Olympic Movement on the Asian continent.

A reward of the Olympic Council of Asia - the highest OCA reward ОСА. It is handed over to statesmen and heads of the international sports organizations for worthy contribution to development of Olympic Movement in Asia.
