Kazakhstan President expected to visit Germany in January

Almaty. January 10. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev is expected to pay official visit to Germany in the end of January 2007. The Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Germany to Kazakhstan Gebhardt Weiss said at the press conference devoted to Bulgaria and Romania introduction to the European Union, the agency reports.

"By the end of the month the official visit to Berlin of the President of Kazakhstan is expected to take place," Weiss said.

"The German party has been the EU Chairman since January 1. We are ready to establish contacts with all sectors of the Kazakhstan government, the Ministry of Economics, social issues, culture and others," Weiss emphasized. 16 Embassies of the EU countries are working in Astana and Almaty.

The Ambassador of Germany to Kazakhstan informed that on January 15 the joint dinner would take place in Astana with participation of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev with the Ambassadors of the European Union. "It will allow us to discuss in a friendly atmosphere all the issues we have to consider," Weiss said.

He reminded that on March 24, 2007 the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the European integration would be celebrated.
