Kazakhstan President left for Moscow to participate in CSTO session

Almaty. September 5. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, left for Moscow to participate in the session of the leaders of the member states of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

CSTO session with participation of the leaders of CSTO member states will start its work today in Moscow. According to RosBusinessConsulting, the leaders of the states will consider the following questions: improvement of military CSTO component, creation of the united group of armies of the Central-Asian region, and the project of additional measures on strengthening of antinarcotic activity within CSTO."

CSTO structure includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

As it was informed earlier, yesterday the CSTO Ministerial Council of Foreign Affairs spoke in support of the role of the Russian Federation in maintaining peace in Caucasus.

According to ITAR-TASS, "the Ministerial Council of Foreign Affairs of CSTO member states accepted the statement in connection with the events in South Ossetia at the session in Moscow." The statement informs that the CSTO countries are concerned about military actions undertaken by the Georgian party in South Ossetia that caused numerous victims among peaceful population, death of the Russian peacemakers and a serious humanitarian accident."

"The Ministers support strict adherence to the settlement principles developed by the President of the Russian Federation and the President of France," ITAR-TASS informs.
