Kazakhstan President to speak at 65th session of UN's General Assembly in New York

Almaty. September 15. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, will speak at the 65th session of the UN's General Assembly in New York, the agency reports citing ITAR-TASS.

The 65th session of the UN's General Assembly opened in New York. Representatives of the organization's member countries expect to discuss more than one hundred questions. The main themes - maintenance of peace, economic restoration, protection of the environment, and other questions of the so-called the Millennium Development Goals.

The summit of the United Nations devoted to the Millennium Development Goals, will take place in the UN's headquarters during the period from September 20 until September 22, prior to the beginning of political discussions, which will be held from September 23 until September 30. The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon informed, "139 heads of states and governments would take part in the summit and political discussions."

The Presidents of Brazil, the USA, Iran, Venezuela, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and the Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China and the Prime Minister of Great Britain are expected to speak at the UN's General Assembly.
