Kazakhstan President took part in CSTO Council session

The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Council in Tajikistan, the president's press service informed the agency.

Astana. October 8. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev took part in the session of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Council in Tajikistan, the president's press service informed the agency.

According to the press service, during the CSTO session the leaders of the states of the CSTO member states approved a package of documents on joint peace-making activity and signed agreements on development of military-economic cooperation.

"The consent on creation of two new subsidiary CSTO bodies was reached: Coordination council concerning struggle against illegal migration and Coordination council on extreme situations," the message states.

In this context, Kazakhstan proposed to include the questions to be solved by CSTO, the issues of ecological and energy security, which have transnational character and directly affect the interests of all our states. "Acceptance of the Eurasian pact of stability of energy supply will assist provision of collective energy security," the president's press service emphasized.

Kyrgyzstan will preside CSTO in 2008. The next session will be held in 2008 in Moscow.
