Kazakhstan ratified agreement in support of nuclear non-proliferation treaty

Astana. April 13. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the law On ratification of the agreement between the government of the Republic Kazakhstan and the preparatory commission of the organization of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty including post certified actions, on objects on the international monitoring in support of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty," the president's press service informed on Friday.

The agreement was signed in Vienna on September 9, 2004 and is directed at effective development and service of network of monitoring in the Republic Kazakhstan.

The main purpose of the agreement results from the contract regulations and the protocol to it, according to which Kazakhstan has undertaken not to carry out test explosions of nuclear weapons and any other nuclear explosions, and to cooperate with other state-participants to promote control over observance of the contract.
