Kazakhstan ratified amendment to agreement on dismantling of ICBM mine launchers

Kazakhstan ratified the amendment to the Kazakhstan-American agreement on dismantling of mine launchers of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM), the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. June 2. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan ratified the amendment to the Kazakhstan-American agreement on dismantling of mine launchers of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM), the agency reports citing the president's press service.

According to the press service, the head of the state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, signed the law on ratification of the amendment to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States of America on dismantling of ICBM mine launchers, liquidations of emergencies and prevention of proliferation of nuclear weapons.

The text of the law has been published in press.

As informed earlier, according to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan, Sauat Mynbaev, ratification of the amendment to the agreement is continuation of the policy of Kazakhstan in maintenance of measures of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons mode.

Signing of the amendment to the agreement is acknowledgement of adherence of Kazakhstan to global processes of disarmament and strengthening of the mode of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear, biological, chemical, and radiological.

The amendment to the agreement between Kazakhstan and the USA concerning dismantling of mine launchers of intercontinental ballistic missiles, liquidation of emergencies and prevention of distribution of nuclear weapons of December 13th, 1993 was signed in Washington in December, 2007.
