Kazakhstan representative approved as EurAsEC Secretary General

Kazakhstan representative Tair Mansurov has been approved as the EurAsEC Secretary General.

Astana. October 8. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan representative Tair Mansurov has been approved as the EurAsEC Secretary General. The decision was accepted at the session of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community on Friday, the president's press service informed the agency.

According to the press service, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon has been elected the chairman of the EurAsEC Council for 2008. "The following session of the Interstate Council at the level of the leaders of the states will be held in 2008 in Moscow, the press service added.

Kazakhstan at the session of the Interstate Council supported acceptance of the concept of effective utilization of hydro-energy resources of the Central-Asian region and formation of common energy market of the EurAsEC member states.

The proposal to provide permanent disposition of the Executive Committee of the International fund of rescue of Aral in Almaty along with the Secretary of the EurAsEC integration committee was put forward in Dushanbe. According to the press service, the leaders of the states during the session were familiarized with the information on the course of the work on two very important documents - the Concept of effective utilization of hydro-power resources of the Central-Asian region and the main provisions of the concept of formation of the common energy market of the EurAsEC member states. "The draft resolution of the UN General Assembly - Cooperation between the United Nations Organization and the Eurasian Economic Community, to be included to the preliminary agenda of the sixty third session of the General Assembly has been approved," the press service explained.
