Kazakhstan Showcases Volunteer Development Experience at the United Nations

A series of events dedicated to strengthening international cooperation in the field of volunteering has been held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The initiative was organised by Kazakhstan, with the support of Azerbaijan's Chairmanship of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Kazakhstan's Ministry of Culture and Information said.

The programme included the opening of a photo exhibition highlighting volunteer movements across CICA member states, an international panel discussion, and the presentation of an electronic publication featuring best practices in volunteerism.

Particular attention was given to Kazakhstan's experience in developing its volunteer movement. UN representatives praised the country's national system for recording volunteer activities and its government policy aimed at promoting volunteerism.

The events brought together representatives of the United Nations, CICA member states, and international experts, who discussed the development of volunteerism, youth engagement and international cooperation.
