Kazakhstan State Secretary met Ambassador of Turkmenistan

The State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev received the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan Mohammed Abalakov in connection with completion of his diplomatic mission, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

Astana. January 15. Kazakhstan Today - The State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Saudabayev received the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan Mohammed Abalakov in connection with completion of his diplomatic mission, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

According to the press service, the State Secretary thanked M. Abalakov for long-term fruitful work on development of mutual relations and on behalf of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev handed over to the diplomat the certificate of honor of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The State Secretary noted high dynamics of development of Kazakhstan-Turkmen cooperation and expressed confidence that in the future it will be even more effective and stronger.

Priority for Astana and Ashkhabad is development of trade and economic cooperation, including in the field of fuel and energy complex, transport and communication, rural and fish facilities and cooperation in cultural-humanitarian sphere.

For 11 months of the last year, volume of commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan has made $164 million that is above the parameters of the similar period of 2006 by 20 %.
