Kazakhstan to contribute to OSCE modernization - Shtrohal

Kazakhstan can significantly contribute to OSCE modernization, OSCE/ODIHR Director Christian Shtrohal said during the meeting in Warsaw with the Kazakhstan Ambassador Alexey Volkov, the agency reports.

Astana. February 18. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan can significantly contribute to OSCE modernization, OSCE/ODIHR Director Christian Shtrohal said during the meeting in Warsaw with the Kazakhstan Ambassador Alexey Volkov, the agency reports.

"During the talks Christian Shtrohal noted that presidency of Astana in the organization will be unique," the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan informed.

During the meeting taken place in Warsaw the chairman of the Kazakhstan diplomatic mission acquainted the OSCE chairman with the key points of the Message of the President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the people of Kazakhstan: Growth of Well-Being of the Citizens of Kazakhstan - primary objective of the state policy. A. Volkov informed C. Shtrohal that in connection with the presidency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in OSCE in 2010 the leader of the state N. Nazarbayev has initiated the special program - Way to Europe, which should promote development of economic cooperation, attraction of technologies and experience, improvement of the legislation, etc.

The parties discussed the planned for the autumn of 2008 forum of the Ministers for Foreign Affairs of moslem and western countries - Common World: Progress Through Variety. The parties agreed that carrying out of a similar forum is extremely important and topical for development of the dialogue of civilizations.

Making comments on the Message of the President N. Nazarbayev, OSCE/ODIHR Director has highly estimated aspiration of Kazakhstan to improve standard of living of Kazakhstan citizens. He emphasized that the similar program of strategic development will allow defining and solving key internal political issues, including in the field of further democratization of the society.
