Kazakhstan to develop halal industry

Astana. March 5. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan is to develop halal industry. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the Republican meeting concerning agriculture, the agency reports.

"We have not studied the experience of manufacture of halal meat for moslems and there is no enterprise producing halal products," the President noted.

"The Ministry of Agriculture within the limits of the allocated budgetary funds is to focus on this direction in animal industries," N. Nazarbayev emphasized.

The Kazakh leader charged the state holding Kazagro together with the government and akims of all levels to study the market and opportunities, prepare feasibility report of the first stage of four-five projects on construction large feeding area with complete infrastructure for meat export in various regions of the Republic.

"Nowadays volumes of world halal-market make more than $500 billion a year. It can also include food stuffs, but also cosmetics, perfume, and clothes.
