Kazakhstan to raise GNP per capita up to $7 thousand in 2007

Semipalatinsk. June 18. Kazakhstan Today - In 2007 Kazakhstan plans to raise parameter of total internal product per capita up to $7 thousand. The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev said at the assembly of the leadership of the East Kazakhstan oblast, the agency reports.

The Kazakhstan leader reminded that "last year Kazakhstan finished with the GNP parameter per capita of $5 thousand." N. Nazarbayev noted high economic development of Kazakhstan, in particular, the East Kazakhstan oblast. "I am satisfied with the work being carried out in the East Kazakhstan oblast. The oblast has been developing at high rates," the President emphasized.

According to N. Nazarbayev, the period has come "when it is necessary that political reforms do not lag behind economic development." "In the years of crisis strong presidential authority was necessary. I asked you to have patience. Now owing to this we approached the times when the Parliament and the government will have greater responsibility," the President informed.
