Kazakhstan to strengthen dialogue on religious issues

During the presidency in OSCE Kazakhstan plans to strengthen the dialogue on religious topics and struggle against various forms of discrimination. The Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Austrian Republic and Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan at the international organizations in Vienna, Kayrat Abdrahmanov, informed in Vienna (Austria) during the round table devoted to the future presidency of Kazakhstan in the OSCE in 2010, the agency reports.

Vienna. May 8. Kazakhstan Today - During the presidency in OSCE Kazakhstan plans to strengthen the dialogue on religious topics and struggle against various forms of discrimination. The Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Austrian Republic and Permanent Representative of Kazakhstan at the international organizations in Vienna, Kayrat Abdrahmanov, informed in Vienna (Austria) during the round table devoted to the future presidency of Kazakhstan in the OSCE in 2010, the agency reports.

According to K. Abdrahmanov, during the presidency in OSCE Kazakhstan intends to strengthen dialogue on religious topics and struggle against various forms of discrimination and to introduce to the agenda the economic, ecological, military, and political security issues.

The key themes of the round table: the European Union, Kazakhstan and presidency in OSCE; the European attitude towards chances and possible risks Kazakhstan may face during its presidency in OSCE; the program of Kazakhstan Way to Europe; safety issues of Central Asia and challenges of the global financial crisis.

Kazakhstan became the participant of OSCE in January, 1992. The agreement on presidency of Kazakhstan in OSCE in 2010 was signed in the end of November, 2007 at the 15th session of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of OSCE in Madrid.
