Astana. August 20. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan welcomes the arrangements reached on settlement of the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict, the agency reports referring to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

"We welcome the arrangements reached by the Presidents of Russia, France, and Georgia, as well as the leadership of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. All the parties involved in the conflict should strictly observe these arrangements," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan informed.

Kazakhstan supports offered by the leadership of Russia a way of solution of this issue on the basis of the Charter of the United Nations, the Helsinki Final Act of 1975, the 1966 International Pacts and other documents of international law.

The last events in South Ossetia and the region as a whole demand the objective and thoughtful estimation.

Attempts of power resolution of the complex ethno territorial problem undertaken in South Ossetia, has led to serious consequences. The conditions for peaceful and legal resolution of the problem have worsened.

In conditions of humanitarian catastrophe in the region Kazakhstan has already rendered humanitarian support to the suffered population.
