Kyrgyzstan Parliament members demand president's resignation

The Parliament deputies (zhogorku kenesh) demand Kyrgyzstan president's resignation, the agency reports from Bishkek.

Bishkek. September 17. Kazakhstan Today - The Parliament deputies (zhogorku kenesh) demand Kyrgyzstan president's resignation, the agency reports from Bishkek.

"In the democratic countries, if the presidential Constitution is cancelled, the president should resign," the deputy Muratbek Mukashev said at the Parliament session on Monday.

The deputy expressed concern that the decision of the Constitutional court on recognition of illegitimacy of two last editions of the Constitution of Kyrgyzstan can strengthen powers of the President Kurmanbek Bakiyev. As a result of numerous disputes, regarding cancellation of the last editions of the Constitution of the Republic, the deputies suspended the work till Tuesday, September 18.

As it was informed earlier, on Friday, September 14, the Constitutional court of Kyrgyzstan returned the Republic to the Constitution of 2003. The basis for this became the fact that the last amendments were introduced to the Basic Law of the country without carrying out of the national referendum and the conclusion of the Constitutional court.
