Kyrgyzstan Parliament to consider F. Kulov's candidacy for Prime Minister

Bishkek. January 25. Kazakhstan Today - Zhogorku kenesh (the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan) started the second debate of Felix Kulov candidacy for the Prime Minister post, the agency reports.

The deputies will debate the project of the decree of the parliamentary committee on the constitutional legislation, the state structure and legality.

The project proposes to return the right of the President of Kyrgyzstan on putting forward the candidacy of Felix Kulov for the Prime Minister post and include his candidature for the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan consideration.

The representatives of the committee considered that the Kyrgyzstan leader has no right to put forward the same nominee for the second time for the Parliament consideration.

The next day the press service of the government of Kyrgyzstan published the resolution of the legal department of the Prime Minister apparatus. The resolution emphasized that arguments of the profile committee zhogorku kenesh "directly contradict the new fundamental principles of the government formation."

According to the document, the profile committee "went beyond its powers as its resolution was not regarding the nominee of the Prime Minister, but on the competency of the decision of the President of the Kyrgyzstan Republic, that called into question the action of the President."

Today the deputies will express their opinion through ballot. Last time voting on F. Kulov's nomination was held in the Parliament on January 18, 2007. As a result of the ballot, F. Kulov was supported by 23 deputies and 39 delegates voted against. To be approved, Kulov had to gather 38 votes.
