Kyrgyzstan President signed document on closing American air base Manas

Today the President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiev, signed the document on closing the American air base Manas, the agency reports citing the president's press service.
Bishkek. February 20. Kazakhstan Today - Today the President of Kyrgyzstan, Kurmanbek Bakiev, signed the document on closing the American air base Manas, the agency reports citing the president's press service.
According to the press service, K. Bakiev signed the Law on denouncement of the counter note of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan to the note of the American Embassy of December, 4th, 2001 №542, forming together the agreement between the government of Kyrgyzstan and the government of the USA. The law will come into force since the date of signing.
As informed earlier, the President of the country, K. Bakiev, at the press conference, following the results of the meeting with the President of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, in Moscow on February, 3rd, 2009, informed on the decision of the leadership of Kyrgyzstan to close the military base.
