Labor Ministry works on sectoral professional standards

Almaty. December 10. Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Kazakhstan works on development of over 7 thousand professional standards within the framework of the National Qualifications System, Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population of Kazakhstan Yergali Yegemberdy said speaking at the opening of the 4th International Forum "Vocational Education and Business: Dialogue of Partners" on December 10.

According to the Prime Minister's official website, Yegemberdy also said that a two-level dialogue platform was established within the framework of creation of the NQS which is used by the specialists of the Ministry and state bodies to assess the current situation in the system and form a new National Qualifications System, detect the main problems, risks and prospects for development of a functional model of the NQS.

Speaking of the qualifications system, the Deputy Minister emphasized that it should regulate and unite the existing qualifications and positions within a single system, increase motivation of people to undergo on the job training and build an optimal trajectory of training and career development of people.

Besides, the system will allow to replace the existing wage and job descriptions by professional standards meeting the international requirements in future.

As earlier reported, the 4th International Forum "Vocational Education and Business: Dialogue of Partners" takes place in Astana today. Prospects and ways of vocational education development in partnership with business are discussed at the forum.

Representatives of the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan, Government, Parliament members, heads of sectoral ministries and agencies, sectoral and regional councils, professional associations and VTE institutions, international organizations from 11 European and Asian countries take part in the event.
