Majilis approved amendments to law on historical-cultural heritage

Astana. May 25. Kazakhstan Today – Today at the plenary session Majilis deputies adopted the bill On amendments and additions to the legislative acts in the first reading on protection and the use of historical-cultural heritage, the agency reports.

The bill creates basic legal mechanisms of protection and use of historical and cultural monuments of Kazakhstan society regulation issues. "It is a question of 25,000 monuments of history, archeology, architecture, monumental art," he added.

The bill creates precise mechanisms to provide safety and effective utilization of cultural heritage of the country," Y.Yertysbayev said.

The bill provides amendments in five acts, in particular, the Land Code - concerning regulation of security zones. The norm providing compulsory carrying out of archeological researches of unexplored territories to land users is being introduced to the Land code.

The bill is directed to the profile Majilis committee for preparation for the second reading.
