Majilis approved bill of ratification of transit trade Convention

Astana. January 24. Kazakhstan Today - Today at the plenary session Majilis deputies approved the bill on ratification of Kazakhstan of the Convention on transit trade of the midland states," the agency reports.

"Joining the convention will provide the opportunity to Kazakhstan to use freedom of navigation on the equal rights with sea powers, provide an easy access to the sea that will allow realizing of the transit-transport potential of the Republic and will promote expansion of trade in Kazakhstan," the Majilis Committee for the international affairs, defense and security message states.

The convention regulations recognize the rights of all the states not having access to the sea. The convention provides the midland states the right to free and unlimited transit so that they could freely participate in the regional and international trade.

The convention was accepted on July 8, 1965.

The bill has been forwarded to the Senate.
