Majilis approved ratification of agreement on creation of Central-Asian center on struggle against illegal circulation of drugs

Today at the plenary session the deputies of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan approved the bill on ratification of the agreement between the Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on creation of Central-Asian regional information coordination centre on struggle against illegal circulation of drugs, psychotropic substances and precursor, the agency reports.

Astana. September 24. Kazakhstan Today - Today at the plenary session the deputies of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan approved the bill on ratification of the agreement between the Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on creation of Central-Asian regional information coordination centre on struggle against illegal circulation of drugs, psychotropic substances and precursor, the agency reports.

According to the conclusion of Majilis Committee for International Affairs, Defense and Security, the agreement between the countries on creation of the center on struggle against illegal circulation of drugs, psychotropic substances and precursor was signed in Astana in July, 2006.

The agreement stipulates creation of the Central-Asian regional information -coordination centre in Almaty. Financing of activity of the center is carried out due to the resources of the state-donors, international organizations and contributions of participants of the center.

The agreement defines conditions and the order of rendering of mutual aid by competent bodies of the state-participants of the center. The parties define national coordinating body and the other competent bodies that carry out interaction with the center on cooperation in the organization, carrying out and coordination of the coordinated international operations and operatively-search actions.

The document stipulates conditions and the order of residence of foreign citizens - workers of the center and members of their families in territory of Kazakhstan.
