Majilis Profile Committee approved block of bills directed at safety in zone of CSTO responsibility

The Committee for International Affairs, Defense and Security of Majilis Parliament of Kazakhstan approved block of bills directed at safety and stability in the zone of responsibility of the Organization of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the agency reports.

Astana. September 10. Kazakhstan Today - The Committee for International Affairs, Defense and Security of Majilis Parliament of Kazakhstan approved block of bills directed at safety and stability in the zone of responsibility of the Organization of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the agency reports.

"Majilis Committees and Legislation Department of the Lower Chamber of Parliament positively estimate the bills and propose them for ratification," the member of Majilis Committee of International Affairs, Defense and Security, Yerzhan Isakulov, said.

"All of us know what has been happening in South Ossetia and Abkhazia and all these bills will assist solution of similar problems," he said.

According to vice Defense Minister of Kazakhstan, Bolat Sembinov, it is a question of three bills - ratification of the agreement on the CSTO peacekeeping activities, ratification of the agreement on creation of control system of CSTO Collective Peacekeeping Forces and on ratification of the protocol on amendments and additions to the agreement on the legal status of the organization of October 7, 2002.

"Ratification of these agreements will promote maintenance of national and collective security of CSTO member states," vice Minister of Defense said.
