Medvedev and Rahmon discussed development of Russian-Tajik relations

Kazakhstan Today - The Presidents of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, and Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, discussed the questions of development of the Russian-Tajik relations and the situation in Central Asia during the meeting in the presidential residence of the Russian Federation in Zavidovo, the agency reports citing the program Vesti of Russian television.

"We will discuss all the questions actual for our countries: economical, political, and regional," he said. "We will have enough problems and we need to think how to work further," D. Medvedev noted. "We will talk on the economic projects, how to move forward. We need to consult on regional affairs," he offered.

He also said that despite the economic crisis, commodity turnover between two countries has been developing and has made more than $1 billion. "It demonstrates that we have large reserves for cooperation in the economical, military-technical spheres, and hydro-power engineering," the leader of Tajikistan emphasized.
