Medvedev assigned Minister of Defense of Russia to strengthen protection of Russian citizens in Kyrgyzstan

The President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, assigned the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Serdyukov, to undertake measures to provide safety of the Russian citizens in Kyrgyzstan and to strengthen protection of the Russian objects in connection with the frequent cases of takeover in this country, the press service of the president of the Russian Federation, informed, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

Almaty. April 21. Kazakhstan Today - The President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, assigned the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Anatoly Serdyukov, to undertake measures to provide safety of the Russian citizens in Kyrgyzstan and to strengthen protection of the Russian objects in connection with the frequent cases of takeover in this country, the press service of the president of the Russian Federation, informed, the agency reports citing RIA RosBusinessConsulting (RBC).

As informed earlier, as a result of the disorders on April 19 in the village Mayovka near Bishkek, five people died and 28 were injured. According to the press attache of the Russian Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, Victor Harchenko, among victims are Russian.

Earlier, two units of the Airborne Armies (about 150 commandoes) were sent to the Russian air base Kant to protect safety of the families of the military officers in Kyrgyzstan.
