Meeting on carrying out of administrative reform in law-enforcement bodies in Ministry of Internal Affairs

The meeting on carrying out of administrative reform in law-enforcement bodies took place under the presidency of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Baurzhan Muhamedzhanov, in Astana on Thursday, the agency reports referring to the public relations department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Almaty. August 15. Kazakhstan Today - The meeting on carrying out of administrative reform in law-enforcement bodies took place under the presidency of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Baurzhan Muhamedzhanov, in Astana on Thursday, the agency reports referring to the public relations department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.

"In the Ministry of Internal Affairs process of reforming has begun with optimization of structure of the central body of the department and elimination of duplication of functions of the divisions. Owing to introduction of principles of openness, accountability of police to the society (creation of Public Councils for control over activity of police, reaction to publications in mass media, briefings, accounting meetings with the population), work of the police has become more transparent," the press centre informed.

The laws providing for improvement of the system of preparation of the police staff, including abroad, increase of their social security, and carrying out of joint actions with other countries on counteraction of transnational criminality were adopted this year. A number of bills that will essentially affect decrease of criminality as a whole, including in public places and in streets have been developed.

According to the press centre, chairmen of committees, chiefs of departments and independent departments of the ministry took part in the work of the meeting.
