Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia positively assessed CIS prospects

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, positively assessed the prospects of the Commonwealth of Independent States in radio company interview Voice of Russia, to the television channel Russia Today and RIA Novosti news agencies, the agency reports citing Voice of Russia.

Almaty. February 26. Kazakhstan Today - The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, positively assessed the prospects of the Commonwealth of Independent States in radio company interview Voice of Russia, to the television channel Russia Today and RIA Novosti news agencies, the agency reports citing Voice of Russia.

According to Voice of Russia, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation has estimated the prospects of the Commonwealth of Independent States rather positively. As he said, from the moment of the beginning of the financial crisis, the CIS countries had an understanding that it is better to stick together.

S. Lavrov said that, in the last 2 - 3 years, an interest of the CIS participants has increased escalating its economic component. "From the beginning of the financial crisis, this interest began to become more practical. There was such a mechanism as the meeting of Ministers of Finance of the CIS, which did take place earlier. The plan of measures on overcoming of the consequences of the crisis was approved, following the results of their work.
