Ministry of Agriculture introduced restrictions on import of meat

The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan has introduced restrictions on import of meat and meat products shipped after April, 28th, 2009 from Mexico and Texas, California and Kansas on the territory of Kazakhstan in connection with the registered by World Health Organization (WHO) outburst of H1N1 swine flu in Mexico and three US states, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan Today - The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan has introduced restrictions on import of meat and meat products shipped after April, 28th, 2009 from Mexico and Texas, California and Kansas on the territory of Kazakhstan in connection with the registered by World Health Organization (WHO) outburst of H1N1 swine flu in Mexico and three US states, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan.

"On April, 27th, 2009 the State Inspection Committee of Agro-Industrial Complex of Agriculture Ministry of Kazakhstan has introduced restrictions on import and transit through the territory of the republic of meat, meat raw materials and processed products that did not undergo thermal processing and made from any kinds of animals, shipped after April, 28th, 2009 from Mexico and the states of Texas, California and Kansas, including transported in hand luggage of passengers, in order prevent spread of swine flu on the territory of Kazakhstan," the press service informed.
