Astana. January 4. Kazakhstan Today - On Wednesday, the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met the representatives of Russian, Slavonic, and Cossack organizations of Kazakhstan, the agency reports.

"I will do everything to make the role of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan in the future become stronger and the representatives of all nationalities are present in the Parliament and in the power structures of our country and that these rights are protected," the Kazakh leader stated at the meeting.

The President noted that Russian public associations as a part of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan have played a huge role in the state independence formation.

N. Nazarbayev informed that during the talks with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin taken place on December 31 the parties noted the relations between two states in 2006 were excellent.

"We always mention that people of 130 nationalities live in Kazakhstan. They are the citizens of our country whose rights are protected by the Constitution and the laws. Solving any problems we should keep it in mind," N. Nazarbayev emphasized.

In the memory of this meeting, Cossacks presented the President a horse and a felt cloak.
