Almaty. July 10. Kazakhstan Today - NATO will expand to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. Director of Center of Political Research and Consulting, Andrey Fedorov (Russia), stated at the session of the round table within the Youth summer school of Big Black Sea region: prospects of regional safety after NATO summit in Bucharest, in Leningrad region, the Russian Federation, the agency reports referring to Information Agency Regnum.

"I am assured that in the long term influence of NATO will extend to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan and in three years Azerbaijan will join NATO. Azerbaijan leaders do not speak about it outloud, but the work is being done," A. Fedorov stated. He emphasized that expansion of NATO, as well as expansion of EU, should be accepted by Russia as something inevitable. "We will be living in absolutely different geopolitical situation in 10 - 15 years," the expert noted.

"NATO lives, while moves, that is while extends. But expansion of NATO is not only malicious intention, but is a logic of transformation of the organization from the military union into the system of security," A. Fedorov said.
