Nazarbayev approved pilot project on creation of high-tech zone

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, approved the pilot project on creation of the zone of high-tech in the Eastern Kazakhstan area, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. May 5. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, approved the pilot project on creation of the zone of high-tech in the Eastern Kazakhstan area, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

According to the press service, N. Nazarbayev met akim of the Eastern Kazakhstan area, Berdibek Saparbayev. During the meeting the head of the state was presented "the balance of manufacture and consumption of industrial products within the limits of execution of the assignment on maintenance of Kazakhstan's share developed by akim of the area and suggested creation in the region of the zone of high technologies based on the Finnish experience," the press service informed.

According to the press-service, B. Saparbayev at the meeting reported to the President of Kazakhstan on the results of social and economic development of the area for the first four months of 2009, the condition of material base of social sphere, and the course of realization of "highway map."
