"I wish those who kept one of five precepts of Islam, the fast for the whole month and celebrate it today all their thoughts, desires, and prayers would reach Allah and that our country would preserve friendship between people and religions," N. Nazarbayev said. The leader of the state wished good luck and well-being.

Today is the first day of the holiday. Solemn Mohammedan prayers in its honor took place in all mosques of the country. The holiday celebrates the end of sacred Islamic month Ramazan, during which faithful Muslims kept the fast.
