Nazarbayev discussed regioanl development issues with regionals akims

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, discussed with the regional akims the questions of the regional development, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. February 25. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, discussed with the regional akims the questions of the regional development, the agency reports citing the president's press service.

N. Nazarbayev met the akim of the South Kazakhstan area, Askar Myrzahmetov, who informed the President of the results of the social and economic development of the region for 2009 and the development plans of the region in the light of the assignments set by the President in his Address to the people of Kazakhstan.

"The head of state gave some assignments on development of manufactures and creation of new workplaces."

According to the press service, the head of state also met akim of the Akmola area, Albert Rau, who informed the President of the results of the social and economic development of the region for last year and the goals for the forthcoming period.

During the meeting, the officials also talked about the course of performance of the president's assignments on creation around Astana of food belt and development of the Shchuchinsk-Bohr resort zone.

N. Nazarbayev also met Almaty akim, Ahmetzhan Esimov. "A. Esimov informed the head of state of the social and economic development of Almaty and the plans on realization of the objectives following from the Address of the President to the people of Kazakhstan - New Decade - New Economic Growth - New Possibilities of Kazakhstan. During the meeting, the officials also talked about the course of preparation for VII Asian Winter Games."
