Nazarbayev held a number of meetings

The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, held a number of meetings within the limits of the forthcoming summit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the agency reports citing the president's press service.

Astana. November 30. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, held a number of meetings within the limits of the forthcoming summit of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), the agency reports citing the president's press service.

According to the press service, N. Nazarbayev met the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. The President of Kazakhstan and Ban Ki-moon discussed a wide spectrum of questions of cooperation of Kazakhstan and the United Nations and the most actual problems of the global and regional policy.

The UN Secretary General positively assessed the presidency of Kazakhstan in the OSCE. Ban Ki-moon has appreciated the role of Kazakhstan and personally the President of Kazakhstan in stabilization of the situation in Kyrgyzstan and the country's contribution to preservation of stability and safety in Afghanistan.

The head of state also met the Secretary of State of Sacred Throne (Vatican) Tartsisio Burton. The officials discussed the questions of cooperation of Kazakhstan and Vatican in development of interreligious dialogue as one of the major tools of maintenance of peace and concord between the people.

The President of Kazakhstan met the leader of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov. The officials during the meeting discussed the prospects of development of bilateral cooperation and some important questions of the international agenda.

The OSCE summit will be held in Astana on December 1 - 2, 2010. All countries-participants and organization's partners confirmed their participation in the OSCE summit.
