Nazarbayev met Crown Prince of Abu-Dhabi

The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met Crown Prince of Abu-Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zaid in Akorda residence, who arrived in Kazakhstan with a working visit, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

Astana. December 3. Kazakhstan Today - The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met Crown Prince of Abu-Dhabi Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zaid in Akorda residence, who arrived in Kazakhstan with a working visit, the agency reports referring to the president's press service.

According to the press service, during the talks the President of Kazakhstan and the Crown Prince discussed prospects of development of trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates.

N. Nazarbayev expressed satisfaction with the arrangements reached during his working visit to the United Arab Emirates in November 2007.

"The parties agreed on realization of the large investment projects in the field of petrochemistry, metallurgy and gas industry. Kazakhstan proposed to create joint investment fund with the authorized capital of $4 billion, which would finance large projects in Kazakhstan," the president's press service informed.

The ministers of energy and mineral resources, industry and commerce, national holding Samruk, the national oil-and-gas company KazMunaiGas and the delegation of the international company of Abu-Dhabi for oil investments took part in the top-level negotiations.

During the meeting, the parties noted, "the relations between Kazakhstan and the United Arab Emirates develop in spirit of friendship and mutual respect. It promotes growth of economic cooperation, within the limits of which the UAE representatives of business circles began realization of large investment projects. Among them are the civil-engineering design Aktau-city on the Caspian Sea and construction of a multi purpose complex Abu-Dhabi Plaza in Astana.

Volume of commodity turnover between two countries for 2006 made $153 million (export of Kazakhstan to the United Arab Emirates - $80 million, import - $73 million), and for January - September 2007 - $89 million.
