Nazarbayev signed decree on establishment of Day of Nuclear Industry Workers on September 28

The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the decree on establishment on May 12, 2008 the Day of Workers of Nuclear Industry on September 28 in accordance with article 4 of Kazakhstan Law of December 13, 2001 on Holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the agency reports referring to the press service of Kazatomprom Company.

Almaty. May 15. Kazakhstan Today - The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the decree on establishment on May 12, 2008 the Day of Workers of Nuclear Industry on September 28 in accordance with article 4 of Kazakhstan Law of December 13, 2001 on Holidays in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the agency reports referring to the press service of Kazatomprom Company.

"Nuclear industry of Kazakhstan is presented by Kazatomprom Company, national operator in export of uranium and its compounds, rare metals, nuclear fuel for nuclear power stations, special equipment, technologies and materials for dual purpose. The company is included into a number of leading uranium producing companies of the world," the press service emphasized.

Number of employees of Kazatomprom as of today is made of 25 488 people.

According to the press service, within the limits of strategic cooperation in the field of use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes the company has joint ventures and agreements on deliveries of uranium production and fuel with the largest companies in the world - Japan, Russia, China, the USA, Canada, France, Korea and Belgium. Strategic partnership and creation of joint ventures is directed at realization of strategic program Kazatomprom on creation of vertically integrated nuclear company covering all links of nuclear fuel cycle.

"Establishment of a new professional holiday demonstrates key role played by nuclear branch in successful economic development of the Republic of Kazakhstan," Kazatomprom emphasized.
