New Speaker of Parliament elected in Kyrgyzstan

Zhogorku kenesh deputy Aytibay Tagayev has been elected the new Speaker (torag) of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan. The agency reports referring to Parliament press service on Thursday.

Bishkek. May 30. Kazakhstan Today - Zhogorku kenesh deputy Aytibay Tagayev has been elected the new Speaker (torag) of Parliament of Kyrgyzstan. The agency reports referring to Parliament press service on Thursday.

According to the press service, on Thursday at the Parliament session the candidature put forward by the chairman of the National Party Ak Zhol, Kyrgyzstan President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, was supported by 77 national deputies, 2 members of Parliament voted against. 79 deputies took part in voting.

Re-election of new torag of Kyrgyzstan Parliament took place in connection with the fact that Committee for Ethics and Regulation of Kyrgyzstan Parliament pronounced judgment that "the Speaker A. Madumarov violated rules of conduct. The same day ex-Speaker of zhogorku kenesh met with the President of Kyrgyzstan. The talk took place behind closed doors. However, after the meeting with the country's leader A. Madumarov made a decision to resign from the post of Parliament Speaker of Kyrgyzstan.

The same day the meeting of faction of the National Party of majority Ak Zhol took place in the Parliament behind closed doors. Following the results of the meeting, the decision was accepted: to put forward resignation of plenary powers of the deputy and dismissal of A. Madumarov from the post of Speaker of Parliament. Members of Parliament unanimously voted for resignation of plenary powers of the Speaker Adakhan Madumarov at the meeting of the Chamber of the Parliament.
