Orphanage in Almaty will receive assistance amounting to 170 million Tenge within the framework of "Tugan Zher" program

Kazakhstan Today - Akimat and Department of Education of Almaty city, public foundation "Nursultan Nazarbayev Educational Fund" and private foundation "Halyk" Charity Fund have signed Memorandum on Cooperation within the framework of which Orphanage No. 1 will receive charitable assistance.

Gaysha Syzdykova, Deputy Director of Nursultan Nazarbayev Educational Fund noted that under the project it is supposed to revamp gym hall and catering facility, enhance landscape, supply computerized equipment and update resource base, reported Kazakhstan Today.

"We believe it is our duty and feel pride to become one of the first in implementation of "Tugan Zher" program proposed by the President. Due to consolidated efforts of local authorities and "Halyk" Charity Fund we intend to renovate Orphanage No. 1 and create an exemplary model. A large work package is dedicated to improvement of educational processes and will bring these processes to higher level. It is supposed to teach information technologies, give extrascholastic classes, including various creative clubs. Advanced training to teachers of the orphanage is foreseen", noted G.Syzdykova.

In turn, Asel Tynyshbekova, Director of "Halyk" Charity Fund clarified that for assistance in improvement of educational and instructional activities, material and technical base and development of the orphanage infrastructure where 109 children 3 to 18 years old being raised the fund is planning to provide 170 million Tenge.

It shall be pointed that public foundation "Nursultan Nazarbayev Educational Fund" was established at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on December 15, 1998. The mission of the Fund is to facilitate development of education system in Kazakhstan in accordance with international standards.

Let us recall that in the article "A look into the future: modernization of public consciousness," the head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed to develop a new program named "Tugan Zher".

N.Nazarbayev noted that in the framework of the Tugan Zher Program it is necessary to organize serious local history work in the sphere of education, ecology and improvement, study of regional history, restoration of cultural and historical monuments and cultural objects of local scale. For example, the best form of patriotism is the study of the history of the native land in secondary schools.

"Secondly, it is assistance to businessmen, officials, intellectuals and young people who having moved to other regions of the country would like to support their small homeland. This is a normal and patriotic desire, and it should be supported, not prohibited," the head of state said.

He noted that local authorities need to systematically and orderly approach the Tugan Zher Program.

"We must not let this work run its course, because it requires a balanced and correct understanding. We need to find different forms of support and social respect that will help the small homeland, including a sponsorship mechanism. There is much work to be done.

We can quickly plant trees in our cities, greatly help computerize schools, support regional universities, art funds of local museums and galleries, etc.," the article says.

According to the local administration of Almaty, within the framework of the Tugan Zher Program in Almaty it is planned to introduce in the History of Native Land in schools, restore the monuments, compile a list of social projects to improve urban infrastructure, provide the social facilities with material and technical resourced, provide the targeted financial assistance, conduct the campaigns "Taza Koshe" and "Taza Audan", create tourist maps, conduct gathering of young historians and a forum of young regional specialists, etc. In addition, the approved plan of activities involves the development of an online crowdsourcing platform to bring concerned citizens together to offer their ideas on a given topic, as well as the creation of a cultural, educational, historical and local history reality show Tugan Zher on the city channel.
