OSCE and PACE agreed on participation of their observers in presidential elections in Azerbaijan on October 15, 2008

OSCE and Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) agreed on participation of their observers in the presidential elections in Azerbaijan on October 15, 2008, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Hazar Ibragim, informed at the press conference, the agency reports.

Baku. August 19. Kazakhstan Today - OSCE and Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) agreed on participation of their observers in the presidential elections in Azerbaijan on October 15, 2008, the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Hazar Ibragim, informed at the press conference, the agency reports.

According to the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the invitations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic have been sent to OSCE, the European Union, the CIS and GUUAM. Milli medjlisi (parliament) has sent invitations to observers from OSCE Parliamentary Assemblies, the Council of Europe and the CIS.

"OSCE and PACE have already given the answer. The OSCE delegation will be headed by Slovenian diplomat, Boris Frlits and will include 30 long-term and 450 short-term observers. The mission of long-term observers will arrive in Azerbaijan on September 7. PACE Observer mission consisting of 30 people will head PACE co-reporter in Azerbaijan, Andres Herkel," he said.
