OSCE chairman to direct its representative to Bishkek

The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Kazakhstan's State Secretary, and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kanat Saudabaev, will send its special representative to Bishkek to discuss the question of rendering assistance to Kyrgyzstan. K. Saudabaev held a telephone conversation with the president of the transition period of the Kyrgyz Republic, Rosa Otunbaeva, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Kazakhstan Today - The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Kazakhstan's State Secretary, and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Kanat Saudabaev, will send its special representative to Bishkek to discuss the question of rendering assistance to Kyrgyzstan. K. Saudabaev held a telephone conversation with the president of the transition period of the Kyrgyz Republic, Rosa Otunbaeva, the agency reports citing the press service of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan.

According to the press service, "the officials discussed implementation of the program of economic rehabilitation of Kyrgyzstan, initiated by the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, for the friendly state."

The officials discussed the current situation in Kyrgyzstan and the questions of preparation for the parliamentary elections, which will be held on October, 10 in this country.

ODIHR/OSCE intends to direct its mission that will include 24 long-term and 300 short-term observers. Herbert Zalber, Director of OSCE Secretariat Center on Conflict Prevention, has been carrying out further consultations concerning the forthcoming activity of the OSCE police advisory group.
