OSCE chairman, UN Secretary General sent special representatives to Kyrgyzstan

The OSCE chairman, Kanat Saudabaev, and the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, sent special representatives of two organizations to Kyrgyzstan, the agency reports citing the Ministry for Foreign Affairs press service.

Astana. April 8. Kazakhstan Today - The OSCE chairman, Kanat Saudabaev, and the UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, sent special representatives of two organizations to Kyrgyzstan, the agency reports citing the Ministry for Foreign Affairs press service.

According to the press service, "the OSCE chairman, the State Secretary - Minister for Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Kanat Saudabaev held a telephone talk with the Secretary General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, today. The officials expressed deep concern over the situation in Kyrgyzstan."

"K. Saudabaev informed the UN Secretary General of appointment of the special representative of the presidency of Kazakhstan in OSCE for Kyrgyzstan, Zhanybek Karibzhanov. Z. Karibzhanov is Vice President of Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan, the head of the Kazakhstan-Kyrgyz inter-parliamentary group, and the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kazakhstan. He is expected to arrive in Kyrgyzstan in the near future."

"Ban Ki-moon informed of the visit to Kyrgyzstan of the special representative - Deputy UN Secretary General - Executive Secretary of the European Economic Commission of the United Nations, Yan Kubish. In 2005, Y. Kubish was the OSCE Secretary General and participated in resolution of the situation in Kyrgyzstan."
