Parliament approved amendment to law On Elections

Astana. June 19. Kazakhstan Today - On Monday at the joint session of the Chambers of the Parliament the deputies adopted in the second reading the Constitutional Law on amendments and additions to the Constitutional Law On Elections, the agency reports.

The Minister of Justice Zagipa Baliyeva emphasized earlier presenting the bill in the Parliament that the document provides new order of formation of the Majilis of the Parliament. "98 Majilis deputies out of 107 are elected by the party lists at the unified national election district on the basis of proportionate election system. Nine deputies will be elected by the Assembly of the People's of Kazakhstan," the Minister said.

The bill regulates the procedures of nominating the candidates for the Majilis deputies of the Parliament by political parties, formation party lists, carrying out and summation of the elections results, distribution of delegate mandates between the candidates included to the party list.

The law has been forwarded to the President.
