Parliament approved amendments to Republican Budget for 2007

Astana. June 19. Kazakhstan Today - Today at the joint session of the Chambers of the Parliament the deputies approved in the first reading the bill on amendments and additions to the law On Republican Budget for 2007, the agency reports.

As it was informed earlier, in connection with realization of the assignments given by the President of the state in the message New Kazakhstan in the New World, the government proposed to increase deficit of the Republican budget for 2007 by 126 billion KZT - up to 271.2 billion KZT (2.2 % of GNP). The budget income specified by the government has been forecasted towards increase: by 76.5 billion KZT - up to 2088.1 billion KZT, or 16.8 % of GNP. The budget expenditures were supposed to remain at the level of 2359.2 billion KZT (18 % of GNP).

At the plenary session Majilis deputies brought a number of proposals on allocation of budgetary funds. The Majilis Committee for Finance and Budget suggested "to provide additional means in the Republican budget for 2007 to the Ministry of Education and Science in the sum of 500 million KZT for increase of the authorized capital of Holding Samgau for carrying out of the work on defining strategic priorities in scientific and technical development and financing initiative and risque researches on grant basis - 600 million KZT.

According to the legislative procedure, amendments to the budget are debated by the Parliament in two readings.
