Parliament creates conciliatory commission on bill strengthening responsibility for drug-related crimes

Kazakhstan Parliament creates the conciliatory commission on the bill on amendments and additions to the Criminal, Criminal-Judicial Codes and the Code on administrative offences concerning strengthening responsibility for illegal circulation of drugs. The deputy Mukhtar Tinikeev stated today during the plenary session of Majilis of Parliament, the agency reports.

Astana. April 16. Kazakhstan Today - Kazakhstan Parliament creates the conciliatory commission on the bill on amendments and additions to the Criminal, Criminal-Judicial Codes and the Code on administrative offences concerning strengthening responsibility for illegal circulation of drugs. The deputy Mukhtar Tinikeev stated today during the plenary session of Majilis of Parliament, the agency reports.

"The committee members does not agree with their counterparts on some amendments ... In this context, I suggest considering these questions in the conciliatory commission," the Majilisman noted.

As it was informed earlier, the bill after consideration by the senators in the second reading has been forwarded back to Majilis with amendments.

The bill strengthens criminal liability for committing drug-related crimes down to lifelong imprisonment in cases, such as selling drugs in educational institutions and to under age, realization of drugs in especially large sizes by organized criminal groups, contraband of drugs in large quantities, persuasion to consumption of drugs entailing death of a person.
