Parliament ratified agreement between Kazakhstan and Russian governments on cooperation in marine transport

The deputies of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan at the plenary session today passed the Law of Kazakhstan on Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on Cooperation in the field of Marine Transport, the agency reports.

Astana. February 26. Kazakhstan Today - The deputies of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan at the plenary session today passed the Law of Kazakhstan on Ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the Russian Federation on Cooperation in the field of Marine Transport, the agency reports.

The agreement was signed on October, 4th, 2007 in Novosibirsk during IV Kazakhstan-Russian forum of frontier regions.

According to the Minister of Transport and Communications of Kazakhstan, Serik Ahmetov, the agreement provides full and effective maintenance use of the marine sea fleet and the ports of both states and safety on the sea, including safety of vessels, members of crew, cargoes and passengers. The agreement also assumes strengthening of protection of the sea environment and mutual recognition of ship documents (identification of a seaman or the passport) issued by the authorized bodies of two countries.
