Parliament ratified agreement on creation of Central-Asian center on struggle against illegal circulation of drugs

Astana. October 22. Kazakhstan Today - Today at the plenary session of the Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan deputies passed the Law on ratification of the Agreement between the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyzstan Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on creation of Central-Asian regional information coordination center on struggle against illegal circulation of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, the agency reports.

As it was informed earlier, the agreement between the countries on creation of the center on struggle against illegal circulation of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors was signed in Astana in July, 2006.

The agreement stipulates creation of the Central-Asian regional information coordination center that will be in city Almaty. Financing of activity of the center is carried out due to the means of the states-donors, international organizations and contributions of participants of the center.

The agreement defines conditions and the order of rendering of mutual aid by the competent bodies of the state-participants of the center. The parties define the national coordinating body and other competent bodies that carry out interaction with the center on cooperation in the organization, carrying out and coordination of the coordinated international operations and operatively-search actions.

The document conditions the order of stay of foreign citizens - employees of the center and members of their families in the territory of Kazakhstan.

The document has been forwarded to the leader of the state to be signed into law.
