Parliament ratified amendments to Kazakhstan-American agreement on dismantling of ICBM mine launchers

The Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan passed the law on ratification of the amendment to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States of America concerning dismantling of mine launchers of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM), liquidation of emergencies and prevention of proliferation of nuclear weapons, the agency reports.

Astana. May 14. Kazakhstan Today - The Senate of Parliament of Kazakhstan passed the law on ratification of the amendment to the Agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the United States of America concerning dismantling of mine launchers of Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM), liquidation of emergencies and prevention of proliferation of nuclear weapons, the agency reports.

According to the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan, Sauat Mynbayev, ratification of the amendment to the agreement is consecutive continuation of the policy of Kazakhstan to maintain the measures of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons mode.

Signing of the amendment to the agreement is acknowledgement of adherence of Kazakhstan to global processes of disarmament and strengthening of the mode of non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear, biological, chemical, and radiological.

The amendment to the Agreement between Kazakhstan and the USA concerning dismantling of mine launchers of intercontinental ballistic missiles, liquidation of emergencies and prevention of distribution of nuclear weapons of December, 13th, 1993 was signed in Washington in December, 2007.
